Red Bull Black Hills Run

September 26,27,28th 2019 (Thursday, Friday and Saturday)

This event is open to 10 vehicles, any MV up to probably a 1 ½ ton. It is a three day event in the northern Black Hills.

Now see this:

Send it out now!, you have until the middle of June to contact Lee.  Sorry, after that you can not attend.  Click the links, you will see why it fills up fast!  Great fun, better than on horseback, some say.  Ask about the ride share feature.  Join us.

Thank you John, Lee

We will start each morning at 9 am, stop for lunch along the trail or at a place of interest and be back to town around 3 pm. Most of the trails are low gear low range. The trails are not difficult but have challenging areas. You may get a scratch or your skidplate may rub, but no serious rock crawling.

I have Jeeped this area for many years. There are many breathtaking views, historic sights, and interesting things to see. I have a friend there who will guide us in the area and are lifelong residents of the Whitewood/ Sturgis area.

John has a very nice collection of Military Jeeps, M37’s as well as other interesting vehicles. He is also an expert on the history of the Black Hills as well as George Armstrong Custers Travels in the Black Hills and will share his knowledge along the trail.

If this is of interest to you, here are the rules:

Your vehicle must be in SOUND operating condition, and have a WORKING parking brake!

I expect you to do a 200-300 mile shakedown run prior to the trip, things break down and I understand that, BUT there is no excuse for lack of maintenance. A clean fuel system is a must. Your fuel tank will get shook up, and if not clean, you will have trouble!

You will also need a basic small parts supply for your vehicle, items like, Fuel pump, points & condenser.

No special permits or license is required as long as your vehicle is street licensed and insured, you are good to go!

Its late September. Be prepared for cool mornings and possible rain. We will have alternate trails if it rains, but not as much fun, LOL

A Family Band GMRS radio is also required, cheap at most stores and will allow you to hear the history along the trails, as well as keep the group informed of trail conditions ahead.
